How to prepare for Speech using ChatGPT?
A few days ago, my daughter came home from school with a bright smile and nervous energy. “Papa,” she said, “I’ve been nominated to stand as a candidate for School Captain. I have to speak in tomorrow’s assembly. Just one minute. Can you help me?”
Using an appropriate prompt
I gave this prompt to ChatGPT:
“A class 10 girl in Guwahati wants to give a one-minute speech as a School Captain candidate.”
Within seconds, it gave us a beautifully structured speech — formal, inspiring, and appropriate for a Class X student. But one line about the “drop of water” didn’t sit well with us. It sounded poetic but not personal.
So I asked ChatGPT again:
“Can you rewrite the Guwahati paragraph without the drop of water line?”
The result was perfect:
“Guwahati, the heart of Assam, has always inspired me with its spirit of growth and resilience. Just like our city balances tradition and progress, I aim to bring the same balance — of discipline and creativity, leadership and teamwork — to our school.
It covered all the ideas we gave in the prompt.
How to memorize in short time?
Another challenge was how she would memorize the entire speech in such a short span of time.
We asked again:
“Make me a memory technique to learn this speech.”
ChatGPT gave us a 5-Point Memory Technique –
- Greet
- Introduction
- Guwahati
- Promise
- Vision
- Conclusion
In less than 20 minutes of practice, she could recall the entire speech by connecting the above memory triggers.
The next morning, she stood in front of the entire school, and delivered the speech smoothly & confidently.
Her teachers clapped. Her friends cheered. And when she came home, she hugged me and said,
“Papa, I didn’t forget a single word!”
What can bring more happiness to a parent than a smile on his child’s face!!
